How To Use Mobile Prospector to Acquire New Clients?

What is Mobile Prospector?

Mobile Prospector scans Google's Top 100 search results and gives you a breakdown of whether the websites are mobile-friendly or not.

This tool allows you to generate a customized report for each website, which you can then send to the website owner, right from the Mobile Prospector interface. The idea here is to offer them your services.

You can run a scan for any given keyword and for various databases like google.com, google.com.au, google.com.uk and so on.

How to Use Mobile Prospector?

In the TOOLS menu, under the Client Acquisition section, select Mobile Prospector.

Click on the blue + button at the top of the right hand side of the page, fill in the required information and click SCAN RESULTS.

Keyword - If you want to be location-specific, include the location in your keyword, for example "Locksmith New York" or "Plumber Sydney".
Database - Select the Google database you want to scan.
Select Language Report - Currently only English and German are available.

If you want to check a specific website, for example your own website or your client's website, then click on SCAN OWN URLS and you will be able to input up to 50 URLs at a time and run a scan to see if they are mobile-friendly or not. Note that each search (not URL) will cost you 1 credit.

Once the scan is complete, you will be able to see the results on the History page. Click on the 3-dot icon on the right of each result and you will be given the option to view the results, view the email history and delete the results.

On the results page, you will see the URLs of the Top 100 results for the keyword you searched for, the status of the website such as mobile-friendly, not mobile-friendly, page unreachable... If the status in not mobile-friendly, you will also be provided with the contact details of the website owner (if available).

Sites that show a N/A status usually means that our tool was not able to scan the site and determine whether it is mobile-friendly or not. This could be because the site was not accessible at the time or it contains unloadable resources that prevent our tool from scanning the page. You can click on Re-Check N/A Status to try again.

Click on the 3-dot icon at the right hand side of each URL and you will be given the option to View Info, Generate a Report Link, Email the Prospect or Get the WhoIs Info.

Below is an example of what a report would look like:

Click on Email Prospect and you will have the opportunity to customize the report and email it to the prospect.

Then click on Next Step Compose Email. Note that you will need to connect your SERPed account to a 3rd Party SMTP service like Gmail or SendGrid before being able to send out an email. You can read more about how to do this here.

Preview the email and if you are happy with it, click SEND EMAIL. You can view the history of emails that you have sent by selecting Email History at the top of the results page.

.

If you have any problems using Mobile Prospector, please do not hesitate to contact us by submitting a ticket in the members area. To do so, click on the orange light bulb icon on the top right hand side, then "Submit Ticket".
