How to Use Web Analytics?

What is Web Analytics?

SERPed's Web Analytics tool allows you to get insights into your website's traffic, for example: how many visitors you had, where they come from, how long they stay on your site and much more. There are 2 options:

Use SERPed Analytics - This is perfect for those who do not want to use Google Analytics on their website or want an additional source of traffic information. Installing SERPed Analytics to your site is easy. All you have to do is add our code snippet to your website or through our plugin for WordPress users. Web Analytics will receive data shortly after the code is added and you can then view and export detailed traffic analytics reports.

Use Google Analytics - The tool is fully compatible with Google Analytics. You can embed the Google Analytics code into your site and seamlessly access data generated by Google inside Web Analytics.

How to Use SERPed Web Analytics Tool?

First, you will need to add the website you want to track to Site Manager. You can find out how to do this here.

From the TOOLS menu, select Web Analytics, which is located under the Site Management section.

Click the blue + button located at the top right of the page and you will be asked to select the website you want to track from the list of websites you added to Site Manager.

Next, select whether you want to track with SERPed Analytics or Google Analytics.

For SERPed Analytics, click on Add Tracking Code and the system will add the site to the list of sites you are currently tracking. You will at a glance be able to see details like:

Site Name
Domain Name
Status - whether SERPed or Google tracking codes were found or not. Note that "N/A" will show when you first add the site to the list and you can click on the refresh icon next to "N/A" for the system to search for the tracking code, if not already found.
Number of Visits over the last 24 hours, over this month and over last month.
Analytics Source which will either be SERPed or Google depending on what you selected when adding the website.

Click on the 3-dot icon on the right hand side of results and you will be given the option to:

View Analytics (if the tracking code was found).
Copy Tracking Code - To generate the SERPed tracking code which you can then copy and paste to your website.
WordPress User? Copy Site ID (required if you use our WordPress plugin)
Public Report URL - This will generate a link to the analytics report to share with your team or clients.
Remove Site

Inside View Analytics, you will be able to view graphs and tables showing information such as the number of visits over a selected time period, visits overview, visitor log showing things like date and time of visits, country of visitors, visitor device types, visitor browser types, referrer information and much more.

You can even compare the data for 2 different time periods.

If you select to add a website's Google Analytics data, you will be asked to sign in to your Google account and to allow SERPed access to your Google Analytics account.

Once permission is granted, the website will be added to the list of sites that you are tracking. Click on the 3-dot icon on the right hand side of the results and you will have the option to View Analytics, create a Public Report URL and Remove Site.

In the View Analytics section you will be able to view all your Google Analytics data through your SERPed account. This is extremely useful if you are monitoring more than one website.
